Clint of U.S thanks Fayetteville Technical Community College for helping with CCNA and Wake Technical Community College with CCNP, which led to a job as a Business Development Manager in Information Technology at Cisco.
“I don’t know where I’d be in my life without Cisco and the NetAcad courses. The way they turned my life around was simply amazing. I went from a dead-end job with a company that was continually asking me to do more work for less money (literally they were cutting our pay), to working for Cisco Wireless TAC. The skills that I learned through NetAcad put me in the lead during interviews and gave me the foundation to quickly learn the more advanced skills that were expected of me on the job. Thank you NetAcad for the opportunities you have given me.”
Deepti
Deepti of Australia thanks Swinburne University and TAFE for help with CCNA, Networking Essentials, CCNP, CCNA Security which led to a job as a Systems Engineer with Sales in the technology industry.
“Cisco Networking Academy courses provided me hands-on knowledge about the technology that helped me during my first job as Network Engineer at Kinetic IT. I was able to work on real equipment because I had hands-on skills that I learned through Networking Academy courses.”
Ambrose
Ambrose of U.S thanks MSU Billings for help with CCNP Routing & Switch which led to a job in IT as a Systems Engineer Manager.
“I went back to college in my 30s and decided on the Cisco Networking Academy. Immediately I knew had an affinity for networking. My instructor Bruce Brumley recognized my talent and connected me with great resources and people in the Academy. I was selected to go to Cisco Live as part of the Dream Team, which was a life-alerting experience. At my interview, they recognize the talent that comes from the Academy, and soon after graduating, I was hired to work for a major tech firm.
I relocated from Montana to North Carolina where I met my beautiful wife Julie and started a family. NetAcad really was a new beginning for me. Now I am going on 10 years as a global leader and expert in my field, got my CCIE and there’s nowhere to go but up! I really can’t say enough about the Academy, except that it was life changing for me.”
Garrett
Garrett of Michigan in the U.S thanks Henry Ford College for help with CCNA and CCNA Security which led to a job in the technology industry as a Technical Consulting Engineer Team Lead.
“Cisco Networking Academy provided the building blocks and fundamental knowledge to begin my networking journey. It was the first and most important step in my life and career into networking. From there I have proceeded through self-study to acquire my CCNP – Security and following up with the CCIE – Security.”
Dominique
Dominique of U.S thanks Northern Nash High School and East Carolina University for help with CCNA Networking (x2) and CCNA Security which led to a job in information technology as a Network Support.
“The NetAcad curriculum really embodied a hands-on experience through knowledge-check activities within the modules, Packet Tracer, and labs that referenced real devices. Having this exposure helped to ensure success during my Co-op with the CALO lab(Now: CX) within Cisco. While in the role, I had the chance to set up and configure various Cisco device models. I wouldn’t have been able to jumpstart my Cisco career through the CALO/CX lab without going through Networking Academy which really allowed me to understand the networking concepts taught.”
Cesar Enrique
Cesar Enrique of Colombia thanks Fundacion de Egresados de la Universidad Distrital for help with CCNA, which led to a job as Project Manager in the telecommunications sector.
“The first certification I obtained was the CCNA in 2012. I took the course in an approved academy and had the best experience! Today, 10 years later, I am a project manager and I work in the deployment of networking projects. Cisco Networking Academy opened up the gates to the world for me.”
Arzu
Arzu from Turkey thanks MoNE for help with Devnet which led to a job as IT Instructor in the Education sector
“I have been learning and teaching with Cisco Networking Academy for over ten years. In my learning and teaching journey, I won Cisco Instructor Excellence Award many times in the Middle East region. My main goal as a Cisco Networking Academy Instructor Trainer is to reach out to more instructors, especially in CCNA and CyberOps courses where I have official certifications, and to support instructors to touch the lives of their students with the Academy. As an IT instructor, I have observed a big gap between men and women in the IT industry in seeing and exploring opportunities, especially networking and cybersecurity. To reduce and close this gap, I encourage my female students to participate in events and competitions about technology. I become very motivated when my female students win awards in competitions. I also give extra importance to technology events. These events aim to create a positive impact on students’ lives. I share my experiences in the IT sector as a guest speaker at events such as Girls in ITC Days organized by universities or non-governmental organizations, especially Cisco Turkey. I imagine that in the future, female students studying Vocational and Technical Education will be role models and influencers in IT. With the motivation of my passion, I am working to reach many more teachers and students. Now, I am a volunteer trainer in many social responsibility projects that aim to bring young people and women together with Cisco Networking Academy courses. I have managed to reach thousands of students with my volunteer training. I succeeded in making a difference in the careers of my students with Cisco Networking Academy courses. So, I’m happy. I will continue my efforts and keep my hope to increase the number of women and men who will contribute to the development of human-oriented technology for a more sustainable, equitable, and inclusive future for society.”

“The skills I learned from the Cisco Networking Academy allowed me to pursue a career in Communications Technology and work for Cisco Systems as a Sales Engineer. Isaac
Isaac of Nigeria thanks University of Jos for help with CCNA and CCNP Route which led to a job as Cybersecurity Analyst in the Cybersecurity sector.
“Cisco Networking Academy has had a very positive impact in my career. This educational opportunity opened doors for work in numerous organisations; there is never a shortage of Jjob offers locally and internationally. After graduating, I successfully completed the CCNA Certification and got admitted to the Cisco global cybersecurity scholarship course in 2018 to obtain the CyberOps Associate Certification. I am now planning to continue studying by applying to the Cisco Academy post graduate certificate in advanced networking at the Open University in the United Kingdom. I am thankful that Cisco Networking. Academy creates the opportunity for lifelong learning. The network skills enabled me to build efficient networks for my state university library to enable additional services. I also contributed to building the network of a subsidiary unit of a prominent payment gateway solution in West Africa, connecting the secure facility to the Nigerian Inter-Bank Settlement System. I am currently a Cybersecurity Analyst with a UK-based startup, developing Identity Access solutions for the global market.”
Juan
Juan of Chile thanks INCAP for help with CCNA and CCNP which led to a job as System Engineer in the Telecommunications sector.
“The Cisco Networking Academy was essential to my whole career. Thanks to this, I was introduced to Networking, got my first job in IT back in 2011, and I was even able to join Cisco through the CSAP program in the US, where I met the smartest people that I had the pleasure of knowing in the IT industry; fantastic colleagues, and even more than that, really great friends that I still have around the globe. This program for me was a life-changer. I had the luck to become an instructor in the academy where I have been teaching since 2013 doing what I am most passionate about: share knowledge with some other people. If I could go back in time, I would make the same choice to do it over and over again – to become a Network Engineer. Thanks to everyone who made this possible!”
